Congratulations to the new Vice President!

Kelly VerdiKELLY VERDI, Candidate for Vice President
Not many people can say they love what they do. I am lucky to be one of those people. Art has been the way I communicate, learn and grow. I constantly say to my AP students " Know your why". Why NYSATA? Why Art education? I live and experience my why every day. To enrich the lives of future artists and art educators. To learn and grow through the arts. To develop and navigate a world of grey with color. To evoke emotion with a stroke of a brush or a push of the ceramic wheel... this is my why. Through artmaking and advocating for the arts my passion and love for what I do, keep growing.Having served in different capacities on the NYSATA BOT since 2010, I am eager and excited to be considered for the role of VP. I hope to inspire and be inspired by others. To collaborate with other creative minds. and to keep advocating for the arts in any capacity available. The arts are such an integral part of everything we are. I hope to help create and foster programming in the coming years that continue to help and build on the existing blueprints NYSATA has established.

Congratulations to the new Secretary!

Lauren NelsLAUREN NELS, Candidate for Secretary
NYSATA is a wonderful organization I have been a part of for seventeen years. I believe we serve to support teachers and further art education for students. In the past, I have served as secretary, vice-chair and as an alternate BOT representative for Region 3. I am currently a junior high school art teacher in Homer, NY. If I am voted as secretary, I will be committed to my responsibilities. It would be an honor to be the new NYSATA secretary.
