SESSION DESCRIPTIONSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Morning Session:
Participants will also create a framework for developing an engagement strategy for a new audience that they hope to develop at their home institutions. Afternoon Session: Jennifer Foley is an art historian who found her true home in art museum education and interpretation. She is the Director of Education and Community Engagement at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, where she leads the museum’s educational, engagement, and interpretation programs and initiatives, working with a team of incredibly talented educators. Before joining the Albright-Knox she was the Director of Interpretation at the Cleveland Museum of Art, where she led the museum’s interpretation strategy and program for special exhibitions and the permanent collection. She worked extensively with digital interpretation initiatives and digital content development, including the content for the CMA’s award-winning ArtLens app. Prior to her work in Cleveland, she began her museum career as a statewide educator with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia, where she worked with arts organizations, libraries, and schools to bring art-focused programming to every region of the state. In addition to her work in museum education and interpretation, Foley has presented on her work at numerous conferences, including the American Alliance of Museums, the MCN annual conference, the Association of Art Museum Directors’ Meeting, the Association of Art Museum Interpretation, the American Federation for the Arts. She holds an MA and a PhD in art history from Cornell University, and is ABD in the educational research and evaluation program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Participants will receive a certificate of verification for 6 Professional Development hours. All participants will attend both sessions. Lunch is included with registration.
