 Janis Boremski is a K-6 art educator in Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen for the past 18 years. During that time she has led numerous students in their personal art exploration, culminating with the Portfolio Project. Janis has also served supporting the Portfolio Project as an adjudicator for every level.

 The NYSATA Portfolio Project is an arts advocacy tool used to support students at every level. Join us during this workshop where you will: learn what the Portfolio Project is and different ways to bring it to your students and schools; how to garner administrator support; tips for guiding students in creating authentic work; logistical concerns such as scheduling, portfolio creation, adjudication and parent support. The Portfolio Project is a great way to increase the visibility of your art program, connect with more students on an enrichment level, create a stronger relationship between your art room and the students and families you serve, as well as support your students while they create their own authentic portfolio and present it to local art educators. This practice will prepare them for college entrance and beyond.
